Yarra Ranges Athletics

Founded in 1969, Yarra Ranges Athletics is our local Athletics Victoria team, encompassing both Little Athletics and the Athletics Victoria Shield League. Yarra Ranges Athletics welcomes athletes of all ability levels from ages 6-99 and beyond, offering training, competition, and social events. Yarra Ranges Athletics compete in track & field, cross country, and road racing events, from sprints to ultramarathons, in individual and team configurations. Reflections of an Educator

Formerly known as ESRE, Reflections of an Educator creates beautiful planning resources for Early Childhood Educators. It is run by Gaby Flavin of Sticks & Stones Education and Sandi Phoenix of Phoenix Support for Educators.

Sticks & Stones Education

Sticks & Stones Education is an Australian small business offering a teacher-curated collection of beautiful educational toys, art & craft supplies, natural resources, and more to support children’s early learning and development.

Phoenix Support for Educators

Phoenix Support for Educators is an Australian organisation committed to delivering professional development and customised support for Early Childhood Educators that is relevant, evidence based, and engaging.

 

Family Assistance Office

The Family Assistance Office is an arm of Services Australia (formerly Centrelink) that houses financial support payments for families at various stages in life. They also offer a range of useful articles and guides to walk families through topics such as tax, money management, and child care.

Kidsafe

Kidsafe is an independent, charitable organisation dedicated to the prevention of unintentional death and serious injury to children aged 0 – 15 years. They provide advocacy to policy-makers and education & support to families and professionals around best practices for keeping children safe.

Playgroup Australia

Playgroup Australia is a not-for-profit organisation, established in 1984 as the national representative body for playgroup organisations. Their vision is creating a village through play. Playgroups provide opportunities for children & families to build relationships and play in a safe & supportive environment.

 

Raising Children Network

Raising Children Network provides free, reliable, up-to-date and independent information to help your family grow and thrive together. They are funded by the Australian Government, reviewed by experts and non-commercial, so they are a trustworthy source of information.

SNAICC

SNAICC is the national non-governmental peak body for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. Their goal is strong, healthy, self-determining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, connected to family and culture. They provide a voice for indigenous children in national policy development & sector training.

VAHS

The Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) was established in 1973 to address the specific medical needs of Victorian indigenous communities. The organisation has expanded steadily over past 40 years to provide a comprehensive range of medical, dental and social services for the indigenous community.

 

VACCA

The Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) is a state-wide Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) servicing children, young people, families, and community members. It is the largest of its kind in Australia. VACCA’s purpose is supporting culturally strong, safe and thriving Aboriginal communities. Their services can also be accessed by non-Aboriginal people who have an Aboriginal family member, such as children or a partner.

Red Nose

Red Nose is a national charity working to save little lives and support families impacted by the death of a baby or child. They provide information & advice on safe sleep and safe pregnancy, and grief & loss support for parents & family members who have lost babies or children, whether through early pregnancy loss, termination, stillbirth, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), or other unexpected death.

Boorndawan Willam AHS

Boorndawan Willam Aboriginal Healing Service (BWAHS) is the lead specialist Aboriginal specific family violence service that provides a service in the Melbourne Eastern Metropolitan Region that is inclusive of Inner and Outer East. They provide services to Aboriginal families, including men, women, children and the extended family. Their programs are designed to encourage holistic healing, provide confidential, culturally sensitive support & assistance and encourage healthy lifestyles.

 

Orange Door/Child First

The Orange Door (formerly Child First) is a free service for adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children. The Orange Door can work with you on your own, or together with your family members depending on your situation. The Orange Door welcomes everyone, regardless of migration status. You can seek help or support if you are a migrant or a refugee or do not have permanent residency.

Anglicare

Anglicare Victoria finds solutions for children in need, creates opportunities for young people, and provides tools and support for families to stay together. Anglicare Victoria works with children, young people and families. They prevent harm and empower people to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential. Supporting tens of thousands of Victorians every year, their 1700+ staff and volunteers operate from more than 45 sites across the state, as well as delivering assistance online, at home and in the community. They are Victoria’s largest provider of Out of Home Care and Family Services, and one of Australia’s most innovative agencies in working with vulnerable children youth and families.

Berry Street

Berry Street believes that children, young people and families should be safe, thriving and hopeful. They have provided services to children, young people and families for over 140 years, and today Berry Street is one of Australia’s largest independent family service organisations. They provide a diverse range of programs to around 35,000 people in Victoria each year, including family violence support services, education services, trauma services, out-of-home care services, and parenting & family services. Berry Street wants to make sure that children and families receive the support they need before issues spiral out of control, and so they can stay safely together.

 

Wesley Mission

From the emergency and crisis support a person needs to survive, to the hope and encouragement that will help them thrive, Wesley Mission is here for people and communities as they face life’s challenges, no matter how big or small they might seem. They reach all faces of Australia—from children, families and the elderly, to those struggling with homelessness, addiction, mental health, financial or domestic challenges, and they walk alongside them to help them face life’s challenges and create the life they want.

Starting Blocks

Starting Blocks is a starting point to learn about children’s developmental milestones, understand what to expect from an early childhood education and care service, find services and learn about their quality ratings, and get tips on starting child care or preschool, and what can be done at home to encourage your child’s learning and development. Starting Blocks is brought to you by ACECQA.

Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association

ICPA (Aust) is a voluntary, non-profit, apolitical parent body dedicated to ensuring all geographically isolated children’s educational needs and aspirations are not disadvantaged because of where they live.

Please note that ICPA does not have a Victorian branch, however the ICPA (Aust) site has extensive information and resources that all families can access.
