I have had the pleasure in watching my two children and the children they have grown up with thrive in family daycare.
I am a mother. I know and understand what you are feeling when having to leave your child in the care of someone else.
I aim to provide a safe, secure, nurturing and stimulating environment for your child. An environment where the routines and experiences are flexible and planned for according to your child’s needs and interests and are expanded on to challenge them through intentional and un-intentional teaching. Learning through play is a strong point in my philosophy. My indoor and outdoor environment is planned to allow for structured and un-structured play with a vast range of materials, toys and every day experiences.
My curriculum has a strong focus on sustainable practices and through every day experiences I aim to teach a respect for nature and the care of our world. We spend the majority of our day outdoors and have also found ways to bring the outdoors inside.
While in my care, I encourage children to be independent and offer them a range of chores and duties to enable them to contribute and feel a sense belonging.
I believe a partnership between myself, your child and you, the parent is an essential part in your child’s sense of security, confidence and learning. I endeavour to build a connection between home life and family daycare.
I also believe a sense of community has a strong outcome on a child’s sense of wellbeing and belonging. We go on daily outings and routine excursions and have a strong connection with our local playground, school, kinder and neighbourhood.
